GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) — The Associated General Contractors (AGC) of Wisconsin and its Green Bay-area members are hosting the first-ever ‘She Builds Wisconsin’ Summer Camp, aiming to introduce middle school girls to careers in construction, architecture, and engineering.
The free, three-day camp is designed for hands-on learning and includes field trips to give participants real-world exposure to the industry. Nearly 30 girls from Brown County and surrounding areas are taking part in the camp, which runs Monday through Wednesday.

Held at the H.J. Martin & Son Training Center on Western Avenue in Green Bay, the camp is part of AGC’s broader effort to address the gender gap in the construction industry. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, women make up just 11% of the nation’s construction workforce as of 2024.
AGC of Wisconsin, one of 64 AGC of America chapters, serves more than 650 member firms across the state and offers support in education, safety, legal matters, and more. Through initiatives like ‘She Builds Wisconsin,’ the organization hopes to inspire the next generation of women leaders in construction.
