Gusty winds push a warm up and isolated storm chances to start the weekend

From Storm Team 5…

Tonight, scattered rain and thunderstorms are expected. Breezy southeast or southerly winds will keep temperatures warm! The low will be near 50 degrees. We are not expecting severe weather at this time, but some downpours and lightning may be noted.

Saturday, plan on it being very windy and very warm! Southwest winds could gust as high as 35 or 40 miles per hour, but that comes with temperatures in the middle and upper 70s!

For the stronger winds expected tomorrow, the National Weather Service issued a Wind Advisory starting at 10am lasting until 4pm. The counties included are: Brown, Outagamie, Manitowoc, Calumet and Kewaunee.

There will be a cold front near our area which could set off some stray thunderstorms, and those storms may be strong during the warmest part of the day. Large hail, damaging winds and downpours are the main risks, while a quick tornado spin up is a low-end risk. Areas to the south and east of Green Bay will have the highest risk of a strong storm on Saturday.

Sunday, more rain and thunder is possible, especially in the late morning and afternoon. Temperatures tumble to the middle and upper 50s. Don’t worry, we will get 70s back early next week!
