“It’s amazing to be a part of something this large and the support that we get from our community and the Green Bay Packers,” said Marissa Heim, Philanthropy Director at Casa of Brown County. “To be collaborative with all these partners to support each other and to support our community is what’s so amazing.”

The 2023 grant cycle focused on organizations that will direct the funds toward the areas of need, such as the elderly, homelessness, human services, and hunger.

“Casa is a volunteer-based nonprofit organization that advocates for children who have experienced abuse and/or neglect,” explained Heim. “Our grant funds sustain our child advocacy services to make sure that we’re here and to support the children who need us and who need our volunteers to advocate for them.”

With the help of the grant money, Casa of Brown County has continued its mission of helping children in Brown County, and Heim told Local 5’s Samantha Petters that they have made a significant impact in the last year.

“Last year in 2023, Casa provided a voice for 232 children,” said Heim. “Thankfully, with the support of 132 Casa volunteers who have been doing that advocacy work on behalf of our children in our community, the need is definitely there.”

Packers President/CEO Mark Murphy spoke at the event and thanked the organizations for their dedication to their communities.

“We’re community-owned, but we wouldn’t be here were it not for the support of our community over the years,” said Murphy.

He added that one of the things that makes the Packers organization unique is the partnership with the various communities across the state.
