Rainy start to the new week, strong thunderstorm potential Tuesday

The latest northeast Wisconsin weather forecast from Storm Team 5…

Two days of rain to start the week, then the weather will get much nicer as the week goes on. Rain and a few grumbles of thunder in the morning, then coverage of the showers will favor the southern/lakeshore counties for the second half of the day. 0.25″ to 0.5″ rain reports will be the most common, while communities that get thunderstorms could see totals over 1 inch. More rain will enter the area later Tuesday, and those thunderstorms will bring higher rain totals and a bigger severe risk.

Mostly cloudy Monday with scattered showers and thunderstorms. The high will be much cooler than Sunday around 66 degrees.

Rain goes away into the early evening, then partly cloudy skies will follow the rest of the night. With light winds and the rain today, it’s possible areas of fog may appear late tonight. The low is 55 degrees.

Partly sunny, warmer and a touch humid Tuesday. Daytime highs go up to 73 degrees. We will be closely monitoring a line of potentially strong thunderstorms later in the day, mainly after 3pm and until 10pm. Hail, damaging winds, and tornado spin ups are possible Tuesday – so we encourage you to have a severe weather safety plan ready to go just in case.

Windy on Wednesday with a mix of sun and clouds. Dry weather returns with a high of 70 degrees.

Thursday is the pick day of the work/school week. Sunny and 74 degrees.

Looking dry during the daytime hours of Friday. Partly cloudy and 68 degrees. Some rain will be possible at night.

Rain looks likely for the first day of the holiday weekend. Widespread showers and thunderstorms Saturday and 71 degrees.

Rain possible early on Sunday (what’s left over from Saturday). Then we will dry out and hit a high of 73 degrees.
